Robert Capriola

Conservation Planner

Robert Capriola joined the WES team in July of 2008 with a wealth of experience in natural resource conservation projects. He is responsible for completing diligence for prospective acquisitions, preparing entitlement documents for banks, and providing guidance on permitting and construction. Capriola received a Bachelors degree in cultural anthropology and a Master’s degree in natural resources from Humboldt State University in Arcata California.

Mr. Capriola came to work for WES after 11 years with the California Waterfowl Association (CWA). In his position as Senior Biologist for CWA he was responsible for coordinating the restoration and enhancement of wetlands on wildlife areas and duck clubs throughout the state. He was CWA program manager for the Lower Butte Creek Project, a program spanning ten years that developed and implemented fish passage improvements for the endangered spring-run Chinook salmon while improving water delivery capabilities for the 13,000-acre Butte Sink Wildlife Management Area.

Prior to his work with CWA, Capriola worked as a wetland biologist for Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge, and was President and Co-founder of Pacific Coast Restoration, a private non-profit organization that implements fisheries and wetland restoration projects on the north coast of California.
