![]() ![]() Cosumnes Floodplain Mitigation BankThe Cosumnes Floodplain Mitigation Bank is a 472-acre site located at the confluence of the Cosumnes and Mokelumne Rivers, in southern Sacramento County. This site is approved to provide Shaded Riverine Aquatic (SRA) mitigation credits, a suite of riparian, perennial, and seasonal wetland credits, and riparian forest and shrub scrub habitat credits under the Federal Clean Water Act, California Department of Fish and Game Lake and Streambed Alteration Program, and California's Delta Levee Program. The Bank occurs along one of the last undamed rivers in California, and will contribute to the restoration and protection of natural floodplain and essential fish habitat along the lower Cosumnes River. ![]() The site will provide mitigation for a broad range of wetlands in Sacramento County and portions of Sutter, El Dorado, Amador, Calavaras, Contra Costa, San Joaquin, Alameda, Solano, and Yolo counties. Restoration activities will focus on reintroducing natural tidal and seasonal flooding on the Bank, allowing for the development of high quality riparian and associated wetlands habitat and improving habitat for native fish. The site was approved by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Environmental Protection Agency, a well as the California Department of Fish and Game. In addition to providing wetland mitigation it is also certified to provide mitigation for the State Delta Levee Improvement Program related to riparian forest, scrub shrub and SRA habitat.
