Rain has reached the Central Valley of California and over the last month enough rain has fallen that our Cosumnes Floodplain Mitigation Bank has started to flood.  As the water on the property rises, animals and insects seek refuge on higher ground.  While visiting the site last week, I witnessed this migration first hand.  It had been raining that morning and these lady beetles were hotfooting it up the farm berm on the low end of the property.  It was an amazing site to see, that I almost missed, since my cold hands fumbled to get the camera out of its case before they flew off. – Chris HollandDSC_0004 (640x428) DSC_0005 (640x428)
